We booked a 3 day trip down the River as a social trip for work. Jamie and the team really looked after us. Couldn't have been better. We met at the Blue Duck Cafe, Whakahoro, part of Blue Duck Station where we got the history of the Station and the work they are doing on pest control to help the native blue duck, after getting transported in from Taumarunui. After dinner (great)and breakfast (also great) at the cafe, the next morning we set off down the river. Jamie had all the gear covered and the equipment was in great condition. All the bases were covered from organising our car storage, transport, to food and equipment. All the feed back from the crew has been positive - highly recommended.

Truly ‘Unique Whanganui experience’
A 5 day experience of real genuine passion and commitment. An excellent knowledge of the river, its history and its foibles. Good to work with and a fun sense of humour.
Had a lot of fun.

Canoeing down the Whanganui
An excellent 5 days canoeing down the Whanganui river with Jamie our tour guide, chef and fount of all knowledge on the river and its surrounds.
Advertises and delivers gourmet food - porridge (40+ years since I'd eaten porridge - it never tasted like this), glazed ham on the bone, filet steak, lamb legs, scones, muffins, banana cake all produced in a camp oven.
Side trips to interesting sites like 'the bridge to nowhere', and a day off the river as well as the odd dunking all combine to really make the trip truly 'Unique'.
I recommend this canoe trip to anyone.
